Our Arrival
Saturday 4th February. All was fine, Daddy had been to football (again) and it has started to snow heavily in the evening. Around 2am on the morning of Sunday 5th February Mummy woke when her waters broke. She woke Daddy, but he was tired and it was cold outside so he convinced her to go back to sleep as it wasn't 'too bad' and had now stopped. By 7am Mummy was quite insistant that she needed to go to hospital and Daddy eventually got up and drove Mummy to the maternity ward at Milton Keynes Hospital.
Little did Mummy know but that would be the last she saw of home for the next 4 weeks. The midwife confirmed that Mummy's waters had broken but then delivered the bad news that there were no free cots in the special care baby unit. We had to go on the move to somewhere that did have cots available, just in case we needed any special treatment.
Mummy & Daddy were on their way to St Thomas' Hospital in London. Daddy set off on his way down the M1 and Mummy soon passed him in an ambulance with the blue lights flashing. By the time they arrived the contractions had stopped and the waiting game began. 3 days were spent on the South Bank of the Thames, the hospital had a wonderful view overlooking Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament. Mummy & Daddy even took a stroll along the banks of the Thames. Wednesday arrived and the Contractions started again. More bad news was delivered. The available special care cots had now been taken by emergency admissions. There were none available.
They were on the move again. This time to St Helier Hospital in Sutton, Surrey. Mummy again travelled by Ambulance while Daddy tried to find his was through the streets of South London. Once again upon arrival the contractions stopped. 5 More days were spent waiting, waiting.......
The cesarean section was booked in for Monday 13th February if nothing had happened beforehand. Monday came, again they waited, and waited and then at 3pm the call came. It's happening!
Daddy 'All scrubbed up' & Mummy in her theatre gown, they are all ready for us to appear!

Jack Wade arrived first at 4:10pm weighing in at 4lb 12oz. Skye Erin arrived at 4:12pm weighing in at 4lb 0oz. Mummy and Daddy heard their first little screams. This is our very first picture, we are approximately 5 minutes old!

We spend the next 11 days in the special care unit at St Helier. It was only precautionary as we were very small and we didn't really know how to feed ourselves properly. That's why we had some tubes attached to us. This is us just 1 day old.

We are now 3 days old.

We are now 9 days old and starting to feed from a bottle, even though it is a little bigger than us!

On Friday 24th February and we are on the move, not quite going home yet but definately a step nearer. We are moved to the special care baby unit at Northampton General Hospital.
On Wednesday 29th February, 19 days after we arrived in this world and we are now ready to go home.
